Woodson Routines: Phoneme Segmentation

What?

Phoneme Segmentation is a way of breaking words up into their component sounds, which helps students both in reading and writing.  This is also a great way to help combine movement with learning, which has been shown to help students learn better.

Ask your child to sound out some simple words using the Head-Shoulders-Knees-Toes framework!
